Back to School Information
Dear Fletcher Families,
Welcome to a new school year at Fletcher! Whether you are joining us for the first time or returning for another year, we are thrilled to have you as part of our school community.
The beginning of a school year is an opportunity to start fresh, reconnect, and build new relationships. This year, we are embracing the importance of grounding ourselves in our shared purpose, strengthening our connections, and growing together. When students feel connected to their peers, teachers, and school community, they are more confident, engaged, and ready to learn.
At Fletcher, we are committed to creating a learning environment where every student feels seen, valued, challenged, and supported. We believe in high expectations paired with high levels of care, ensuring students have the academic, social, and emotional support they need to thrive. Our exceptional staff is dedicated to fostering curiosity, encouraging growth, and helping every student discover their unique strengths and passions.
We are also excited to begin the year by celebrating a special accomplishment. This summer, Fletcher was proudly redesignated as both a California and National Schools to Watch school, an honor earned by a select group of middle schools recognized for excellence in academics, equity, responsiveness to the unique needs of young adolescents, and a commitment to continuous improvement. This recognition reflects the collective dedication of our outstanding staff, the perseverance and achievements of our students, the partnership of our families, and the unwavering support of our community. We are incredibly proud of this accomplishment and look forward to continuing to build on this strong foundation throughout the year.
For our rising 6th grade families, we are looking forward to welcoming our newest Tigers at WEB Orientation on Wednesday, August 12. We hope you've received our invitations and have reserved this special date on your calendar. WEB Orientation is a wonderful opportunity for students to meet classmates, connect with their WEB Leaders, and begin feeling at home before the first day of school. More details will be shared with our incoming 6th grade families soon.
A successful school year is built on strong partnerships. We value the collaboration between school, home, and students and know that open communication, mutual trust, and shared goals help create the best possible experience for every child. Together, we can continue to build a community where students feel a true sense of belonging and are inspired to reach their full potential.
As we begin this journey together, please know that our doors are always open. Whether you have questions, need support, or simply want to connect, we are here to partner with you every step of the way.
Thank you for entrusting us with your children each day. We are honored to be part of their middle school journey and look forward to a year filled with learning, growth, connection, and memorable experiences.
Here's to an outstanding school year. We can't wait to welcome our Tigers back to campus!
Warmly,
Melissa Howell

Chromebooks & At Home Web Filtering Information and Instructions
This school year, Fletcher will be transitioning to a classroom Chromebook cart model rather than assigning individual devices to students. Chromebooks will be readily available in classrooms, allowing students to access technology whenever it supports learning and instruction during the school day.
This approach encourages purposeful, balanced use of technology while ensuring students continue to have the digital tools they need for collaboration, research, creativity, and academic success.
At Home Web Filtering: PAUSD is moving to a new web filtering service for students. Parents are now able to create a Parental Monitoring Account via this new service. This account will be able to filter web access and many other aspects of internet usage. This info is available on the PAUSD website.
